eco-friendly products

Our non-renewable resources are on constant decline. Natural resources are dwindling and worldwide, large corporations and governments are looking for new alternative resources to sustain the human life. On one hand we are struggling with lack of resources and at the same time we also have to maintain the growth engine. Crude oil is also known as black gold and we know how crucial this commodity is to our future plans. But oil reserves are not going to be there for eternity so we need to look at other alternative resources like natural gas and hydrogen that burn clean and are easily available. Similarly, coal was an integral element of industrialization but we are fast running out of it. That’s where the concept of eco-friendly products comes into the picture.

If the issue of dwindling natural resources is troubling human race then affect of using polluting materials is also a constant cause of concern. There is a grave danger of making and using products that pollute the environment. The natural world is headed for disaster because of our own recklessness. Many species are fast becoming extinct and that does not augur well for other species including humans. That emphasizes the need of manufacturing and distribution of eco-friendly products so that we can control the damage while we still have a chance of it. Existence of every important factor in our life depends upon survival of other living things. Whether it is food supply, ecological balance, and raw materials for industry consumption or to manufacture products, in short, we need to preserve whatever we are left with by being judicious and by making eco-friendly products.

For example, rare woods like rosewood have almost vanished but we do have the choice of using processed bamboo or maple and ash wood that are abundant and renewable. Vanishing act of rare woods and plants will affect rainforest resources which in turn can have severe repercussion on our survival. Going green is the new age mantra that can help us in bringing the balance back in the nature. Large organizations are putting in special efforts to make people aware of ecofriendly products and its benefits. Most of these products are not only inexpensive but also good for overall health. Eco-friendly products help in minimizing the depletion of the environment during production. Most of these products go through very little processing and that helps in saving lots of energy during the manufacturing process.

Handmade products are considered eco-friendly because they save electricity and are usually free from harmful chemicals and compounds. There are certain toxic materials like chlorine, creosote, PVCs etc that deplete the ozone layer. Most of the eco-friendly products stay clear of using such products. There is an increasing emphasis on using organic foods as they are believed to increase soil fertility. Organic foods use no pesticides or synthetic fertilizers and that helps in creating a biologically diverse agricultural system. Eco-friendly products are made using environment friendly materials. They have a long shelf life. This way, people will need less to purchase these goods and subsequently the amount of trash sent to landfills is also decreased. For example, many clothing manufacturers are using materials like jute, organic cotton, recycled fleece and bamboo fabric to make clothing items. These clothes last for years and are completely environment friendly.
