MAT examines the overall ability, skills and knowledge of the candidates. There is no certain curriculum for the prestigious entrance test. More so, the exam pattern is subject to change every year. Keeping that mind, students should always be prepared for any unexpected change in the question paper. Going by the trend of last few years, usually questions asked in the MAT are of objective type with multiple choice questions. There is no provision for negative marking in MAT. Students have to choose one right answer from four given choices. The exam is usually for two and half hours in which candidates are expected to answer 200 questions.
The basic papers of the entrance test are;
Mathematical Skills
Language Comprehension

Data Analysis
Indian & Global Environment Section
Whether the marks obtained by the students in the fifth paper of Indian & Global Environment Section should be considered or not for the final result, largely depends upon the particular institutes. Based on the marks achieved by the students, they get calls from different institutes.
