body jewelry

Body Jewelry made a fashion statement along with punk and rock. It enjoyed a place with the Woodstock era, the flower children and the 70s anti establishment ideas with faded and torn denims, minis with laddered tights and heavy military like footwear.

Following in these footsteps, body jewelry has been fast catching on as a fashion fad in the 21st century.  It started with a single stud on the ear lobe and progressed to having the entire ear covered with suds and rings. Rock singers mainly sported this style. Some soccer players sporting nose studs also followed this trend. In the 90s belly, tongue, and cheek piercing also gathered momentum.

The more recent rage in body jewelry is eyeball jewelry.  This fad has come from Europe and is now being showcased on American shores. To get this glitzy gaze, a thin platinum jewel is implanted in the mucus membrane of the eye.  This is how eyeball jewelry comes about.  Some regard it as great fun and safe too! Ophthalmologists however are cautious of it and have been issuing warnings.

Body jewelry range includes navel jewelry, designs that come in stainless steel, sterling silver, titanium, and gold body jewelry that includes precious stones, synthetic gems and Austrian crystals.  A choice of belly button rings is available for the non pierced navel and for those that prefer non piercing body jewelry.
