There are hats and hats and hats. In this world we come across people who
wear more than one hat. However, costume hats are altogether a different
story.
There are different hat brands such as Stetson Hats, Dobbs hats, Indiana
Jones hats, Cowboy Hats . in fact a whole range of them. Besides, there are
different hat styles that have come down the ages. There are Felt hats,
Straw hats, Wool or Summer hats. Then there are Fedoras, Safari Outback
hats, Derby hats, Top hats, Panama hats… all under the banner of costume
hats.
As costume hats go the Bowler hat has received great prominence. There are
conflicting reports about its origin. There are some sources that claim
that the shape of the hat had existed since the 1820 and was perfected by
the English hatter William Bowler around 1860 and became synonymous with his
name. It is a hard felt hat with a dome shaped crown and a narrow brim
rolled up at the sides.
The Indiana Jones hat comes from his famous collection made of solid wool
felt and is excellent for every day use or when cracking a whip.
The Fedora is another one that has been feature as a costume hat. It was
featured in Lucky magazine. It is superbly constructed of acrylic and
polyester. The brim is 2 inchs wide and the crown is 5 inch high.
The Wool Bogart is a distinguished mens hat which has a 2 ˝ inchs brim and a 4
inchs
crown. Made of soft wool, there is a saying that goes with it , win a heart
with a Bogart!
