flower girl dresses

Since the wedding is such a special occasion, the dress chosen for the Flower Girl reflect all the grandeur, beauty and simplicity of the special occasion. There are so many ways that the Flower Girl Dresses can be chosen.

A Flower Girl is usually between the ages of 3-8. The Flower Girl walks down the aisle just before the maid of honor does. The Flower Girl carries a beautiful basket full of rose petals and sprinkles them along the way where the bride would walk by.

Since little girls are such beautiful angels, what better occasion than a wedding to dress them up just like angels. Flower Girl Dresses can be made so as to make the little flower girl look like an angel for the wedding. A Flower Girl Dress, which is all-white dress with a white top, and layers and layers of tulle for the bottom can be perfect. Tiny rosebuds sprinkled and sewn all over the top layer will add a sweet touch.

A small white basket with roses or daisies all over the basket would just about complete the picture. The handle can be wrapped with some ribbon. Another option for a basket could be a small wicker basket with a few silk flowers on either side of the handle

The Flower girl dress will of course require a headpiece to be complete. The headpiece could be veils, bows, barrettes, tiaras, headbands or just simple flowers.

You plan to conquer hearts of each and everyone at your wedding, making it an event to remember. Every detail is worth looking into twice and now you are thinking about flower girl dresses. Those little princesses look bountiful in love and charm when you don that beautiful dress on her.

So get started. Because you need to know what will look best on her. Most of the times these days, flower girls are of a far off relative or friend and you get to see her only on the wedding day. Don’t agree to this. If her parents are interested, tell them to meet you somewhere or you have to make the time to go to their place.

This way you can average her size for a pattern and imagine how good the dress will look on her. As sometimes the flower girls are older and overshadow you. On the other hand, too small too isn’t good as they hop around the place and it’s tedious to get them in entourage making your photographs are incomplete. Between 5-8 years is hopefully ideal. However sometimes even 11 year olds are short and 5 years olds are too tall. Reason why you have to see them, meet them to make the decision if they fit or not in the entourage.

Then choose the pattern. With the internet and books flashing designs in every colour there is no need to stress. All you have to do is pick the design and get it stitched or buy a ready to wear. But just like all patterns look different in the book and on you, similarly your flower girl may be too plump or thin for a pattern. So go along with her to the seamstress or the shop to see what looks best.

If you are having more than one flower girl the work gets even more tedious because you have to match the dresses, shoes, tiara and baskets. So once you see your girls, make up your mind on the pattern and colour. On the day of the trial try to finish the shoes and tiara including the basket they are to hold.

Flowing dresses or below the knee, girls look pretty in buckram skirts beneath. Without it they do not look their age. So keep the cute girly look intact with sashes, bows, frills and full skirts. - Author sakina K.
