Initial purses are not just purses with letters of the alphabet but they are definitely part of a trend that is brightening the Indian fashion landscape recently. The initial purses made their debut earlier in the Indian fashion scene and soon enough they are now found on the arms of women everywhere.

These purses come in all shapes, sizes and colors and are known for the large alphabet letter found either in the center or in the corner of each one. The earlier versions that were introduced in India featured purses of darker colors in leathers and vinyl.

However the newer ones features pieces of the brighter kind. They have a smooth texture and come in translucent, bold colors like hot pink with orange trim and teal with lime-green trim.

It is one of the biggest trends in the Indian fashion scene as most people like having something that is individual. Many Indian stores are selling these purses. It seems as if there are 12 letters that are most popular. They are A, B, C, D, E, J, K, L, M, R, S and T.

The stock at most of the stores that stock purses includes shiny, round, patent-leather bags, soft vinyl shoulder bags and small clutches with rhinestone letters. One of the larger jelly bags in soft blue with hot pink trim has silver studs on the straps and large metal rings at the spot where they connect to the purse.

Most major retail and discount stores have their own brands of the purse. The color combinations and styles seem to be endless. If the initial purses continue to cause a sensation, the sunny beaches and poolside hot spots may be a little brighter this year.
