women's footwear

The growth of the country trickles down to the growth of its subjects. The once known shy lady is now on the way to the corporate ladder balancing the act between work and home chores. As she is developing so are her needs. And one segment that is growing in India due to this, is the women’s footwear category.

As the woman of today caries herself with poise she pays detailed attention to her attire. Her shoes are made to complement her dress. Hence she does not restrict herself to just one or two mandatory pairs. For the office goers shoe stores offer formal shoes that grace the look of trousers, skirts even salwar khameezes. Flats, small-heeled or high-heeled everything is made available. Corporate colours like cream, brown and black are always on the shelf.

For sports activities women no longer have to force themselves into men’s shoes. Sports companies have been making women’s shoes since the time they have judged the wide potential this market holds. Smaller sizes and pretty colours are made available for women who are inclined towards sports or just for those who take up exercise seriously.

Walking is a common activity most women undertake to reduce some extra inches. Sports shoes that help walking are hence selling like hot cakes. Moreover as it is mostly the overweight and elderly that take-up walking, sports shoes are made to fit their small plump feet keeping them soft and firm so that they do not damage their delicate feet.

Besides sports shoes women’s footwear have come back with glam. They are more innovative and look cool and sexy on the Indian foot. Luscious colours complement the Indian skin and beadwork, cowries, straps, high thongs give a lasting look. Some film stars have such fancy with shoes that they have only wardrobes of shoes. Increasingly women are identifying the need for good looks and comfortable shoes, thus simply boosting the women’s footwear industry.
