hair coloring

Earlier hair coloring was limited to those with gray
hair. Or rather those with aging gray hair. And the colors available
were just in black or brown. These hair colors were popularly known as
hair dye, which contained harsh chemicals that did immense damage to the
hair and scalp. In India, people with gray hair also had
the option of using Henna. This is a plant when boiled with certain
ingredients colors the hair into a brownish-orange shade. But then as time went by and Indians were given exposure to foreign brands dealing with hair color, the dyes and henna found its way out of mainstream hair coloring, and what took over were the multitude of other colors that claim to be ammonia-free and far less damaging than the age-old hair dyes. The colors available led to a revolution in hair coloring. Everybody and anybody started shading their hair. After a while people forgot their natural hair color. This is also the trend today. Even school going children in the higher classes don colored hair. There is no problem in wanting to move out of the conventional look and change the color of your hair, but the important thing is to select the right color. There are a lot of Indian males and females who prefer the blond look, but what is important is whether it suits you or not. There are hair colors available in shades of browns, reds and blacks, blonds and even fashion hues like green, purple, violet, pink, etc. One must take the advice of the hair specialist who will select a color depending on your complexion and over all personality. After going through the coloring process you must pay special attention to the after- coloring treatment. This is because as mentioned earlier all companies manufacturing hair color do use chemicals that may not be as harsh as what was used in dyes earlier, but all the same they do damage the hair. Ideally, you must ask the salon you visit for the right after coloring treatment, so the original texture of your hair is not lost. ~ author Karishma Bajaj.
