hair growth products

Across the world, hair specialists are constantly involved in developing revolutionary hair growth products. The demand for such products is increasing by the day as more and more people are suffering from hair problems. The reasons are many, primarily being illnesses, stress and pollution. In India, all three are considered prime contributory factors as far as hair problems is concerned.

The hair follicle is a tiny structure from where the hair growths and each strand are composed of the protein keratin. While the hair follicles come into being in the fetal stage of life, hair growth through life is largely dependent on the hormonal patterns of an individual. Undoubtedly, hair forms an important part of our physical appearance. According to various studies, on an average a person has 1,00,000 to 1,50,000 hair strands on their head. It is normal for one to lose 50 to 100 strands per day, but more than that implies unhealthy hair growth, or in other terms a hair fall problem.

Hair loss could be a result of various factors such as hormonal imbalance, stress, illnesses, side-effects of certain medication, hereditary, etc. Almost 90% people suffering from hair loss do so due to genetic reasons. Trichologists or medical hair specialists have diagnosed certain hair fall patterns, giving them medical terminology. There are some who suffer from Alopecia Areata, which is hair loss in certain patches. Alopecia Totalis is complete balding. And hair loss from all over the body is called Alopecia Universalis.

There are certain hair growth products that can help deal with these problems, but then their prescription is case-specific. Hair growth products could be in the form of pills, which are mainly multi-vitamins that promote hair growth. Other products include herbal hair oils, shampoos, conditioners, hair tonics, creams, hair packs, etc. While a number of products are easily available in the Indian market, it is best not to go out experimenting on your own, as you could lose more hair than you already have. Consulting a Trichologist is the best option as they study your case and then prescribe products and treatments that would best suit you.
