Diet Soup Recipes

 

Soups are enjoyed by most of us. A steamy bowl of hot home-made soup can be quite filling. It is also a healthy choice for your afternoon and evening meals.

Here are some the diet soup recipes for a healthy meal: -

A simple tomato soup can be quite healthy of course it should be minus the cream! Tomatoes are rich in Vitamin A so this soup can be healthy

You can make the tomato soup healthier by adding crushed boiled moong dal in it to make it thicker.

Ingredients
4 cups tomatoes puree
3 tbsp cup yellow moong dal paste
˝ cup finely chopped onions
1 tbsp corn flour (mixed in water)
1 -2 tsp sugar
˝ cup warm low fat milk
1 tsp low fat butter/home-made ghee
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat the butter/ ghee in a pan and sauté the finely chopped onions till they are brownish and now add the tomato puree and the moong dal paste. Stir it for a while and add corn flour (mixed with some water), now add the milk and salt and pepper to taste. Healthy tomato soup is ready to serve.

Apart from the tomato soup, you can also try paneer soup which is a good source of calcium and protein.

All you need to make this soup is

100 grams low fat paneer (cottage cheese) (very small pieces)
2 tbsp yellow moong dal paste
1 cup finely chopped spinach (palak)
˝ cup finely chopped onions
1 tsp low fat butter
Salt and pepper to taste

Heat 1 tsp of low fat butter in a pan and sauté the finely chopped onions till they are brownish. Now add the moong dal paste and spinach. Stir and add some water. Mix the small pieces of paneer and add salt and pepper according to taste.

You can also try pumpkin soup which is known to be a healthy soup, low in calories and rich in calcium.

You will need 2 cups of boiled pumpkin cubes
˝ cup potatoes, peeled and cut into cubes
1 large garlic clove, finely chopped
1 cup low fat milk
1 tsp oregano
1 tsp low fat butter
1 tbsp chopped mint leaves
Salt and pepper to taste

Put the boiled pumpkin cubes and potato cubes in a mixer and add some water. As this mixture is ready, heat 1 tsp of low fat butter in a pan and sauté the finely chopped garlic and add the mixture to it. Add one cup of low milk and stir in on a medium flame. Add salt, pepper and oregano according to taste. Garnish the soup with chopped mint leaves.

Apart from these recipes, you can also try and mix various ingredients of your choice and make your own healthy diet soup.
