The countdown had begun weeks ago. School children wait for the gong of the bell and college teens for the last lecture to buzz away. And then time will have no power over them. They can sleep and play…just enjoy the days to come. Their summer vacation then begins. But soon within a week, signs of boredom rear up. They are tired of playing the same game or sleeping from dawn to dusk. Now what? Simple! You need to keep your kids enticingly busy. Making sure that they are enjoying themselves. There are a whole lot of activities these days in India. From personality development to learning craft like drawing, painting and a lot more. For the older ones there are creative challenging opportunities in art and craft. Or they can learn another language, get a summer job….the ideas are endless. All these direct to one motive. Giving your kids an opportunity to learn outside school. To cultivate their in-built talents and help them grow. With summer jobs your teen kids have an inkling of what the outside world looks like. Teach your children different responsibilities and give them incentives for a job well done. Make them write letters, have a journal to list down their daily activities. Take them on an excursion. Teach them to read the map. Before you begin the trip, dig into books of that location. It could be the very vicinity you live in and never know the history of it. Make your children get on to the internet and jot down points then check them out for real on your trip. Packing off your kids to their grandparents’ house or an
uncle & aunty or a good friend can be a lot of fun. Children too need a
change, like us adults. A break from the normal routine, fresh air and a
different atmosphere can work wonders for your little one.
