juicers
|
|
Juicers are basically appliances used to extract juice from fruits and
vegetables. Originally a juicer was a device with a conical ridged
center that was used for squeezing the juice from the fruit. You were
required to cut the fruit into two halves and then pres each half onto
the conical tip and squeeze out the juice. The seeds and pulp of the
fruit would be retained in the edges.
Today, automatic juicers are available. The reasonably priced juicer
spins at high speeds to do their juicing. However, it is advised to
purchase a little more expensive juicer that spins at a comparatively
lower speed. This is because increased speeds heat the juice and cause
damage to some of the nutrients in the fruits and vegetables. A glass of fruit of vegetable juice makes up for not eating it in its original form. In fact a lot of the beneficial nutrients that are stored in fruit and vegetable juices are stored with the fiber. This fiber is not broken down appropriately by the body and is expelled without being put to proper use. However, when the fruit and vegetables are juiced the richness of the fibers is released and so the nutrients are made available to the body in form that is easily digested. There are a lot of people who would rather purchased packaged juices rather than take the effort of juicing at home. However, fresh juice is better for ones health than whatever natural juice is packaged as they have artificial preservatives and additives to prevent them from rotting due to storage. ~ author Karishma Bajaj.
