Spoiling Babies?
- No one wants selfish
children. We want them to be considerate and caring of others.
- What is seen as
'spoiling' to one family will seem normal in another.
- What is 'rude' or 'late'
or 'too many'? Is it different for a baby, a toddler and an older child?
- It is up to you and your
family to work out what is right and important. This takes time but there
are benefits.
- For the first year
babies don't know about other people's needs - they are too busy eating,
growing and learning.
- Looking after a baby's
needs helps them learn about trust and to feel secure. Babies learn about
caring from the example of others.
