Teenagers Censorship

  • Under the age of 18 teenagers are not permitted to see or read whatever they like. Censorship is used to protect their wellbeing and healthy development.
  • Some books, magazines, films and videos are banned completely.
  • Some can be viewed according to their rating:
    • G - recommended for any age
    • PG - parental guidance for children under 15
    • M - recommended for mature audiences over 15
    • R - restricted; children aged two to 18 are not permitted to watch these; teenagers between 14 and 18 can be charged with an offence if they watch an R rated film or video.
    • X - banned for everyone
