Teenagers Watching Tv And Videos

  • Some teenagers spend hours in front of TV. Many others like TV and music on in the background, often saying it helps them work
  • If you notice they work better with music, it's better not to make an issue of it.
  • You can check on the TV or videos they watch at home, but not when visiting friends.
  • Some teenagers become aggressive for a few days after watching violent films and videos. Children who are disturbed, unhappy or hostile are more likely to be distressed by such films.
  • Balance what your child may be seeing by being tolerant, calm and loving at home.
  • If you feel your child is unhappy try to talk about what they are watching. Discussion may help them put it in perspective and help to become more discriminating and critical about what they view.
