Parents take so much care to make sure their child is knowledgeable and grows up to be well-learned human beings. You can take effort to contribute in your child’s learning process by keeping yourself updated by reading, web search and so on.

Reading as much as you can
When you are married, juggling a job, managing a house. It becomes difficult to find time for yourself. When you have a child, it becomes all the more difficult to find time for yourself. But you need to find time to read. There are loads of books stocked up about child care. How to address various issues related to children? Apart from these books you can read all kinds of books, encyclopaedia, general knowledge books, history and biographies etc. If you have knowledge only then would you want can teach your child or have intellectual conversations with him.

Getting tech savvy
Even if you hardly use the web, may be just to email or use the computer for your office work. There is no harm in learning about the pros and cons of the web, so that you can have a check on your child’s web access. You can even use the web to find some quick solutions. You can learn about almost everything on the web so don’t hesitate to find simple solutions with just a click.

Watch television
Instead of watching meaningless television soaps, it would be sensible to watch channels like discovery channel, national geographic or the history channel. These channels will provide with so much of knowledge and information. You will be surprised many a times your kids might be interested in having a stimulating conversation about wild life, nature and history.

Try keeping yourself updated
Keep yourself updated with the changes in syllabus, concepts and methods in subjects of your kids, so that you can solve any queries that your child has. Help your child study well. There are number of exercise books which can be helpful.

Learn a new hobby
It’s never too late to learn a new hobby. Your kid will be proud of you, learn a new dance form, join a cooking class, pottery making. You can even teach your child the same skill.

Try making it fun time for your kid. You can even help your kid with his projects, craft and extracurricular activities only if you have knowledge about it.

Visiting a counsellor
You should not feel ashamed to visit a counsellor if you seek some help in raising your child. A counsellor will ease out any doubts you have regarding your child. And you will be able to develop a healthy relationship with your child.
