There has been a paradigm change from the rustic life of
the villagers in Madraspstahan to the existing fast life. As most of the
income is drawn from modern vocations that are soon encapsulating the
city off its feet. Besides the silky Indian idli, Italian pizzas are
easily available at every corner. Such has been the change with foreign
entities entering the sate. Yet Chennai has been able to keep pace with the fast changing life. And this has turned into one of the leading metropolis of India. It has been making way for the IT industry and the finance sector too. More people and more jobs have indirectly led to a flourishing Chennai real estate. So the huge mansions do exist with beautiful flower gardens. But at the same time there are sky scrappers mushrooming everywhere. As more and more companies are settling down there constructions and space is high in demand. Also BPOs have set up their hi-tech infrastructure buildings out here. So more students and the working genre are thronging down south to Chennai to make their career. Along with the increasing per sq. ft the rent rates are also rising. This is because not everyone has a home down south or company accommodation is not provided. With the sons of the Chennai soil toiling in the UK or the USA, parents living alone out there are able to give their empty rooms on rent. The cost per sq. ft ranges from Indian Rs.70 to Rs.90 in high profile areas. However the city is fast growing and soon what was on the outskirts is now a part of the city.
