The city of Pune is
known as the ‘Oxford of the east’ mainly because of the
educational opportunities that it offers. The University of Pune
is established since 1949. The university has provided education
for millions of student and helped them realize their potential.
The Pune University offers MBA education through the department
of Management sciences that was founded in the year 1971.
Commonly known as PUMBA, the institute is one of the first
management institutes in the country. It is a pioneer effort by
itself in the field of management education.

department of Pune University that is offering this course. The

The University has been recently granted the
highest rating by the National Council of Assessment and Accreditation
(Bangalore). Pune university (PUMBA) has also been graded 'A' with five
stars which makes it truly credible. Pune University is also recognized
by the University Grants Commission (UGC) as ‘University of Potential
Excellence’.
Maharashtra CET is the entrance exam that a candidate needs to appear
for to get admission into PUMBA. Approximately three hundred and sixty
students are selected for MBA through Pune University. There are around
forty foreign students that also pursue their management education
through PUMBA. This makes PUMBA, a globally reclaimed management school.
PUMBA also offers an MBA with specialization in biotechnology. Biotech
is one of the new disciplines in management. Since biotechnology is one
of the growing sectors in national and International economies, PUMBA
has started a pioneering program from the academic year 2002-2003 to
churn a maximum of sixty management graduates with biotechnology
specialization. PUMBA also has a good placement record with a strong
list of recruiters coming for campus placements.
