Kids catch infection very easily. If you notice a fever without reason and your child is over seven months this could be sign of teething. There are many symptoms that need to be put together to conclude that the baby is teething. Teething is painless for many children but for some the irritation could be high. This includes pulling the cheek, constantly biting the toys or disinterest in their favorite foods.

A mild cough is also caused owing to the excess saliva that happens while the child is teething. As kids are always finding ways to soothe their gums or satisfy their biting instincts, they risk the problem of germs entering their system. Hence most kids have a condition of diarrhea and this may be accompanied with mild fever.

One could also find their gums swollen as the incisors begin to jut out. Loss of appetite is a common problem and one could try out alternative or new recipes that may whet their appetite. Powdered oat meal or a banana smoothie is filling to keep them healthy. Some kids teeth overnight and hence this causes disturbances in the sleep pattern. General fussiness is also noticed for a teething baby.

Some babies become irritable, dribbling and putting everything in their mouths are common signs of baby teething.

As baby's teeth begin to push through the gums, the baby may feel some soreness and can become cranky and irritable.

Your babies gums may appear red, slightly swollen and may feel hard. Being feverish maybe a sign of teething, but not always so.

 Fever may also be a symptom of something else for which you may visit your doctor.

Sucking a thumb is okay before the age of three bit it should be gradually discouraged after that since it can push the upper front teeth forward.
