Going to Agra via Delhi, is a double bonanza. The route can be covered by road and there are fantastic sites of tourist interest towards Agra from Delhi. Agra is mostly known for Taj Mahal. There are several other places near Agra which clearly exemplifies the Moghul heritage. The architecture and living is so much of the Moghul influence and the experience is regal when compared with cuisine, monuments and language of the people.

Having several styles of artistry is Sikandra, the revered tomb of Emperor Akbar. The art is magnificent and was completed during the reign of Jehangir. An amazing interest in nature was shown by Babur as he constructed the garden, Ram Bagh. This place is beautiful and very famous. The love of father for his daughter is seen in the mosque Jama Masjid. The architecture is a fine piece with stone carvings; the sand stone works are remarkable. The regular mosque is famous for its Friday prayers.
The relish of pethas or pumpkin sweets is one specialty of Agra which is most commonly sold near any tourist spot. The roads adjoining the tourist places in Agra have not seen much change since the olden days and this is why the monuments remain authentic. Another architectural sign is the Chini Ka Rauza which was supervised by Afzal Khan. The tile works of the glazed variety is surely a piece of art.
The work of constructing the Agra fort started under the direction of Akbar, though Shahjehan continued add on’s for the same. The Khas mahal and the Shish Mahal are well enclosed in the closed architecture that is typical about a fort. The interior also has the Moti masjid laid in pearly white marbles which is another treat for the visitor.
