 All of us have seen Bamboo once in our lives. Asia is very famous for Bamboos. It reminds us of the Chinese Bamboo Restaurants which had the walls, the tables, the chairs etc… all made out of Bamboo sticks. Bamboo can be easily seen at any construction site. The bamboo plant has a hard, wooden and hollow stem. Although bamboo is an extremely strong wood, it needs to be put through insecticide and pesticide to avoid insect infestation and rotting.

Bamboo plywood is the expensive plywood type amongst all. This is mainly because Bamboo itself needs finishing before it is turned into plywood. Bamboo plywood is used for making Chairs and Tables. In fact, with the craze of artifact collection and the traditional look inside houses, the sale of bamboo plywood furniture has risen despite its high price. The Indian Plywood industry has recorded a massive rise in the manufacture and export of Bamboo plywood. But despite this, the demand is overtaking the supply.

One of the bamboo plywood shop owners at a place in Mumbai called Colaba says that due to its durable nature and authentic look, the demand is overflowing. According to him, the wait period for bamboo plywood related goods is 8 days. This means that if an order is placed today, the product will be delivered only after 8 days.

Bamboo plywood is also known as an all season plywood simply so because of its all-season durable quality. The Economic Forum report 2001-2002 has estimated the rise for exports for bamboo plywood to 28% by 2010 as compared to its current export rate of 6 %.
