Travel Trailers are equipments that are non-motorized, portable units that have been designed to be towed on public roads. These Travel Trailers can be towed by a land motor vehicle. Travel Trailers have been designed for recreational and camping use.
Travel Trailers that are mostly kept stationary at one location and used only on a seasonal basis are acceptable only if they can easily be hitched onto a tow vehicle and moved. A Conventional Travel Trailer has been designed for vacation/camping use. It
is usually equipped with bathing, cooking and sleeping facilities. It may
also have additional options such as air conditioning and awnings
Pop Up Tent Trailer:
A Pop Up Tent Travel Trailer is usually constructed with collapsible
sidewalls that fold or slide down for easy towing by a light vehicle. It is
generally a very basic model with few luxuries. The larger units may contain
a refrigerator, stove, furnace. A Pop Up Tent Trailer can accommodate up to
8 people.
In India one would require prior permission from Road Transport authorizes ( The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways . http://morth.nic.in/ ) for these trailers and rules to ply them on Indian roads and highways have to followed.
