used truck prices

Trucks are commercial vehicles and the prices of new trucks usually match their size.

Many buyers, therefore, choose used trucks, which are cheaper and do the job just as well.

A used truck may cost anything from Rs 1 lakh upwards, while a new truck usually begins in the range of Rs 8 lakh and goes upwards.

But prices also differ depending on size and make; the truck can be in the light, medium or heavy category and can have varying features. A ‘multi-axle’ truck is more popular and a self-loading truck is likely to be more expensive.

In the west, Ford and Chevy are the names most frequently heard where trucks are concerned, but in India, the biggest makers are Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland, with Volvo coming into the market recently. The price of a used truck depends on how many years old it is, how many kilometers it has done on the roads and what condition its engine and other parts are in.

While buying a used truck you have to be very careful about identifying the amount of wear and tear it has undergone and how much more it can take.

One look at the model and serial number should be enough to tell you of the age of the used truck, but it is best to make a checklist of things to check out – the exteriors, the interiors and the heart of the truck.
