Bacillus Calmette – Guerin is the first shot in the immunization chart that is given to the new born within 15 days. You may also give the injection within a month. Tuberculosis is one disease that affects people as the susceptibility is very high. It is quite noted that TB in small children is common. The injection is made of Mycobacterium bovis which helps the child get protection from TB during adulthood. The prevention program for TB is
done in all countries but the real eradication can happen only when the
social and economic conditions of a country improve. Generally preferred in the upper arm, the scar is bound to be there which lessens with time. Usually the area swells or reddens and there could be discharge from the same. It settles naturally and one must report if the case is severe.
