Flu shots are recommended by doctors even for adults. The flu shots mainly cover H1N1, bird flu and also influenza. The flu season is very much seen abroad owing to weather changes that help the virus grow.

Hence the flu shots are advised for people going abroad so that they protect themselves. It takes about 2 weeks for the flu shots to get activated and give you protection and hence it must be taken in advance. The usual symptoms of flu shots are fever, running nose, body ache, nausea which will go off within a few days.

The vaccination changes each year and hence it is advised to go for flu shots every year. Despite a good immune system, people can contract the deadly flu diseases like Swine Flu had taken a toll with its spread.

The attenuated virus form is used for the vaccination and gives you protection from ongoing flu diseases. It is so much of reprieve if you are vacationing and are protected with a flu vaccine so that you and your child can enjoy the holiday. The pediatrician or family doctor will give you more details about the same.
