Hepatitis is the disease of the liver. Jaundice affects the liver and can cause a general loss of immunity if not cured at the right time. These days it has become important to vaccinate as per the immunization chart for children to protect them against the virus. The initial and first dose of Hepatitis B vaccine is given during birth time. After 6 weeks the second schedule
is repeated. The 3rd dose for Hepatitis B vaccine is during 6 to 9
months. The first Hepatitis A immunization is given after a year of the
birth of the child. The second dose for Hepatitis A is administered
again after some time to create effectiveness. Only if there are major symptoms then one must report to the doctor. Hepatitis is seen as a contagious form of disease and hence it is very much essential to protect your child against it. The vaccine is available in registered health care units and your pediatrician will surely guide you about the duration and periodicity.
