Indian wedding cards

A wedding is the most joyous occasion in every person’s life. But when you are talking of individuals who are deeply rooted to customs and traditions you can expect their weddings to be out of the world. As they have a multitude of traditions and customs. Just like an Indian wedding. It more that a wedding, it is a society event. The preparations begin more than a week in advance. And one of the preparations is selecting the invitation card.

Indian wedding cards have a lot of variety to offer. As colours galore. Mostly the cards selected are of maroon or darker shades. This is basically the connotations of the mehendi the bride imbibes on her hand. The colour stands for the richness a bride will welcome along with her into her new house.

In the case a darker hue is selected as a background for the card, golden colour ink is used for the font colour on the inside. Golden is an all alluring colour that represents grandeur in all its forms. And what better occasion to expresses royalty than a wedding.

Most of the times Indian wedding cards also have an idol picture at the top of the card. As they believe that every occasion should begin in the name god. Every new venture is best undertaken in the name of Lord Ganesha. Hence you will find his picture on most of the wedding cards.

The size of the wedding card and its richness depends on the budget. You can get as creative as you can if you have a big budget. Some couples even print their cards on dried leaves, handmade paper and so on. On the other hand you can get creative within the limits of your budget too. You just have to think out of the box.~ author Karishma Bajaj
