If someone has been kind to you all you need to do is send the person a thank you note and you will be remembered for your thoughtfulness. It could be a replying to a gesture, an expression or a gift, writing thank you notes can be a very warm idea.

Any stationery can be used for writing thank you notes. Only in the case of a wedding you have to be careful to use formal stationery. While writing thank you notes you have to be a little careful on what goes into that note.

Firstly make you note short and crisp. People do not have the time to read endless letters. So be brief and to the point. You could start by simply thanking the person and go on to write as to how you will best use the gift given. Even if you do not like something you could be polite by saying, thank you for taking time out to buy your gift, mention the gift and thank the sender for the thoughtfulness.

Make the note personal and conclude by thanking the person again and put in the regards for the rest of the family. As people know the value of a thank you note, some indulge in preparing it before the event and giving it off as the person leaves. As you are thanking the person without knowing what has been gifted to you this is not advisable as it makes the note look like a mandatory function and looses all its essence.
